When the Quebe Sisters from Texas take a stage, and the triple-threat fiddle champions start playing and singing in multi-part close harmony, audiences are usually transfixed, then blown away! It's partly because the trio's vocal and instrumental performances are authentic all-Americana, all the time, respectful of the artists that inspired them the most. And whether the Quebes (rhymes with "maybe") are decked out in denims and boots or fashionably dressed to the nines in makeup, skirts and heels, the fresh-faced, clean-cut sisters, all in their 20s, look as good as they sound. Not surprisingly, the Quebe Sisters win standing ovations at just about every show. It's been that way since 2000, when they started fiddling together as pre-teens. The sisters' past is as colorful and eventful as their future is bright. Growing up in Burleson, TX, a southern suburb of Fort Worth, Hulda, Sophia and Grace were 7, 10 and 12 in 1998 when they attended their first local fiddle competition in nearby Denton, and decided fiddling was what they wanted to do. The girls earned solo and group accolades early on, winning state and national championships in their respective age groups in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

The Greenbrier Valley Chorale has developed a reputation throughout the region for the high caliber of its performances. The group has been performing more than 25 years with a repertoire that includes classical, Broadway, jazz, spirituals and folk songs. In 2003, the Chorale was one of four community choirs in West Virginia invited to premiere a new work composed by Paul Halley celebrating the opening of the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences in Charleston. In the spring of 2005, the Chorale was honored to host the world-renowned choral director, composer and arranger Alice Parker as guest conductor for a program of her work. In 2016, the choir presented a special performance of the Fauré Requiem in honor of the 15th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and in memory of the West Virginians, many from Greenbrier County, who lost their lives in the June 2016 flood. The Chorale is composed of more than 50 singers who range in age from advanced high school students to retirees. Have you ever imagined experiencing ALL of Johnny’s iconic songs in concert just the way you remembered them? From the early days with Sam Philips at Sun Records to the later years with Rick Rubin and American Recordings, Cash Unchained delivers a complete catalog of breathtaking music from one of the greatest country artists of all time. Experience it LIVE for one night only! Johnny Cash may not have been the greatest singer or musical technician, but his sound was unforgettable. Steady like a train, sharp like a razor, with the perfect blend of country, rock 'n' roll, and folk music, Cash paved the way for artists of all genres for years to come. Without Johnny Cash, we wouldn't have some of the music we've all enjoyed over the past 6 decades. Performed by some of the finest musicians in the state of Virginia, James Tamelcoff captures Cash's trademark baritone voice, while his band delivers the infectious, driving rhythm of the Tennessee Three. The group has sold-out theatres across the southeast, including the legendary House of Blues. They will entertain you with Cash’s greatest hits including “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Ring of Fire”, “Walk the Line”, and many more. You will also hear songs from the end of Cash’s career including his final hit “Hurt” written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).

The Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon is held on one of the most scenic trails in the country.  The Jackson River Scenic Trail follows its namesake river, winding its way between Intervale, just north of Covington, to Smith Bridge Trail Head following an old railroad bed of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway (Hot Springs Branch) and passes through small communities, cultivated fields, and small patches of woodland along the way. It's common to see wildlife from the trail (birds, turtles, raccoons, rabbits, ground hogs, and deer).  Our course is on the smooth crushed gravel surface of The Jackson River Scenic Trail. The trail is mostly flat with some light hills. All finishers will receive a medal.  Strollers will be allowed in the 5k event and will start in the back of the group at the start line.  The course is certified by USATF as a Boston Marathon qualifying marathon race. Coinciding with the fifth annual Covington Cork and Pork Festival BBQ in Covington, VA everyone is encouraged to stay following the race and visit this Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event.  While the barbeque will stand front and center as the centerpiece of this festival, there will be entertainment, a wine tasting event, and children activities.

In the spring of 2005, the Chorale was honored to host the world-renowned choral director, composer and arranger Alice Parker as guest conductor for a program of her work.
